REFLECTIONS - May 2018
We are celebrating our 45th Birthday this summer. I hope you will join us for the birthday bash scheduled on July 1st. We are looking forward to sharing memories, reflecting on our past, and joyously embracing our future.
The past 45 years have been full of hills, valleys, mountains, and plains. The highlights shine bright and we are so grateful for the many, many people who have stayed committed to supporting our journey. Each new year brings new challenges and new joys. After 45 years, the stories are endless. But some of my favorite start with, "My child attended NVS and . . ." It never gets old to hear the tales told by parents who sacrificed to make the NVS education dream a reality and then look back fondly, recollecting the many ways their child's very being was shaped through their educational experience at NVS.
Celebrating the whole-child has been the mission of NVS since 1972 and it still is. We are just as delighted when a student grasps a new math concept as we are to see them caring for our environment and bringing in trash collected on the playground. The ways that our students view the world around them, from preschool through 8th grade, is a deep focus of our curriculum as we teach students how to love; themselves, others, and our world.
Will you join us in securing this type of education for students on the Oregon Coast for another 45 years? We cannot do what we do without YOUR support. The work that is being done takes the commitment of many who believe in our mission and give generously to support it. Many are unaware that our tuition only covers 40% of our annual budget. It is only through contributions from people just like you that we can sustain our purpose. Please consider making a donation to secure the future for NVS and ensure that more children are provided the opportunity to learn in a whole-child environment.
With deep appreciation, we raise a glass to another 45 years!
