Summer on the Oregon Coast is ALIVE: salty air, towering trees, and endless chances to explore!

Our nature-based, mixed-age Summer Day Camp is rooted in play, connection, and place-based learning.‍ ‍

At Wild Coast Camp, kids spend their days immersed in the rhythm of summer: endless time outside, exploring nature, and learning about the Oregon Coast by being part of it.

  • Camp is for kids entering Grades K-8*

    *Pre-K Half-Day Sessions for kids ages 3-5 run separately from June 15-August 7 (8:30 AM-12:00 PM).

Program Anchors

  • Orienteering + Wayfinding: Learning to navigate using landmarks, simple maps, and awareness of the environment.

  • Shelter + Tent Building: Working together to build tents or nature shelters using natural materials and basic knots.

  • Fire Building + Safety: Safely learning how fires are built, maintained, and respected.

  • Edible Plants + Preparation: Preparing simple snacks together and learning about edible plants and outdoor cooking tools.

  • Adventure Safety + Teamwork: Practicing basic safety skills and learning how to help others in challenging situations.

  • In addition to practical skills, WCC uses the power of nature to inspire:

    Living Systems & Stewardship: Learning to notice, respect, and care for the natural world.

    Creative & Social Expression: Using imagination, play, and collaboration to express ideas.

    Mindfulness & Awareness: Practicing attention to our bodies, emotions, and surroundings.

    Social Responsibility: Learning how our actions affect others and the group.

2:00-2:30 Wind Down (Calming Afternoon Reset Activity)

2:30-2:45 Wrap-Up (Clean-Up, Closing Circle + Debrief)

  • Days balances guided experiences with open-ended exploration

  • Activities shift based on the groups and their individuals interests/needs

  • Learning emerges naturally through play, conversation, and discovery

  • Weather-ready clothing is essential (rain gear, layers, outdoor shoes): expect mud, movement, creativity, and tired, happy kids!
